Ballades
I love the Melodifestivalen. That's a fact. What is it? The Swedish national final for Eurovision Song Contest. But it's a big event on its own, it's just huge there, and huge in my heart too ;) I've found it out in 2000 and since then have heard lots of entries from the past.
But I don't always love the same songs. It depends on my mood, on what is happening in my life.
These days, I tend to like the ballades rather than the usual kitsch songs I'm fond of (but those will come back in the near future, of course!).
I've picked 5 special ballades for tonight!
1995: Cecilia Vennersten - Det Vackraste
Oh...when I first heard this song, I thought it was just boring. Seven years later I am in love it, a real grower. I love the haunting feeling growing throughout the song. I could hear it 10 times in a row without being fed up!
2003: Aleena - Better believe it
The chorus of this song is really pwoerful and reminds me of great memories...I attended the Melodifestivalen final in 2003, so all the songs from that year are a bit special as I all heard them in the days before leaving to Stockholm...
1998: Myrra Malmberg - Julia
Like an angel straight from the clouds, this is just very aerian and magical (Special note: Kisses to you, my precious D)
2003: Mikael Erlandsson - Tils jag mötte dig
I like the voice, I like the melody. Nothing so special with that song, but it's enough to make me feel nice
2007: Sonja Alden - For att du finns
Such a great performance! I found the song ok before watching it, I found it just breathtaking. Love!
